Bath Time!!
We made it home safely last night after picking Nana up at the Salt Lake City airport despite 4in. of snow that had already covered the ground as we got closer to Logan! We ended up getting about 8in. of snow Saturday night and today.
Tonight Nana took pictures while I was giving Elizabeth a bath!
Sledding!!!
On Saturday we decided it was time to try sledding and we found that there was a little hill in the backyard where we could start and see how Madilynn liked it! So, when Madilynn woke up from her nap on Saturday there was a purple sled waiting on her, she was excited to try it out!
All ready and waiting for Mommy to get ready
Daddy and Madilynn trying out the little hill in the backyard...it worked and so much fun!
Mommy and Elizabeth had to try...
Elizabeth all ready...I even put socks on her hands!

Then we decided it was time to try out the big hills at the park, so we loaded up and headed to the park just a couple of minutes away. Madilynn had a blast and even went down a few times by herself! She also enjoyed playing on the park jungle gym, it's been a while since she'd gotten to play at the park and she was all bundled so why not!!

The Backyard!
Sunday afternoon we decided to get out in the backyard to play in the snow a bit and check out the river! Elizabeth was napping inside :)
See the ducks...the other homes lining the river
Madilynn throwing rocks into the river...she almost got me here!
Beautiful view...Can you see the mountains through the trees?
Daddy trying to get Madilynn to throw snowballs - that's the back of the house
Daddy trying to talk Madilynn into throwing that snowball at me...she threw it at him instead!
We had a great time playing around, can't believe it was our first time back there!! There will be many more times I'm sure!! Next we're going to try sledding - hopefully tomorrow! And we are so excited Nana is coming tomorrow night! (Hopefully no delays in Tulsa with all the snow/ice they are getting now!)

Happy Friday!!!

Elizabeth is 5 Months Old Today!!
Elizabeth, I can't believe you're 5 months old already! What happened? You're getting so big!
I took these pictures last night because I just thought she was too cute in her little sweatshirt!! The sweatshirt is 9M and the pants are 12M! But, I think these are cut a little small since she is wearing mostly 6 mo. in everything else!
We picked up Daddy for lunch today and went to Sonic (yeah!!). Madilynn decided to let Elizabeth try one of her french fries!! By the time I realized what was going on and saw it, it was pretty soggy she probably got a little taste. haha I guess it was bound to happen! We explained to Madilynn that Elizabeth couldn't eat that yet, we don't want her to get sick, and to please ask first!!

Elizabeth's First Taste of Cereal
Well we decided to have Elizabeth try some cereal this morning. After a few weeks of her just staring at us and our food while we ate, we decided that maybe she was ready. (She's also been not as interested in the bottle lately, so we thought it'd be good to introduce the solids and mix it up a bit.)
Here's Elizabeth all ready for her cereal! So big!!
Our Week
Well we're trying to get back into our daily routines! Still feels crazy, but we are settling in and keeping busy! Here's Madilynn and Elizabeth catching a little Elmo on their couch!

Elizabeth's 4 mo. stats & Video
Yesterday we took Elizabeth for her 4 mo. check up and shots. Her weight is 15lbs. 6oz. and her height 25 and 1/2in. She's in the 75th percentile for both!
Just wanted to note how much Elizabeth loves Madilynn already. She watches Madilynn all the time and just smiles so big when Madilynn shows her any attention. Last night I was making supper and Madilynn was playing with Elizabeth in the swing and I was able to get a little video of them. She got Elizabeth laughing so good! It looks like Madilynn is being a little rough, but you can tell it doesn't bother Elizabeth at all she is ready to play, and smiling the whole time.
Long Weekend...
Michael got this close to an elk...haha we all did! See the story at the bottom I couldn't get this pic moved in the right order!

On Saturday we finally made it out of the house at noon! (We enjoyed our lazy morning!) And we went to what they call 1st Dam (I think) where Daddy and Madilynn fed the ducks. Elizabeth and I stayed in the car! Daddy carried Madilynn to the dock where they threw the bread to the ducks. Those geese are walking towards them, they know what's coming!
All done and running around in the snow!
Saturday night - bath time!
Just wanted to share my yummy nachos that I made on Sunday night. Chips, shredded cheese, chili beans, lettuce, and sour cream. I stuck the chips, cheese and beans into the oven for a few minutes then topped with lettuce and sour cream. So good and so quick and easy!! (Mexican food is my favorite!)
Monday we met one of the professors Michael works with and his family and went to Hardware Ranch it's just about 30 minutes away. It's a Wildlife Management Area where they feed the elk during the winter to keep them from going down into the valley!
Daddy went in to wake up Madilynn from her nap so we could go...he thought she was so cute and silly her foot is hanging off the side of the bed!

Ice Skating = No Thank You!
Well, ever since the fall Madilynn has been talking about going ice skating a lot. So we thought once we got moved we'd take her and she what she thought! So, last Saturday we took Madilynn to the indoor ice arena. She wasn't too thrilled with the way the skates felt on her feet (pretty heavy). Then Daddy carried her to the ice...and never put her down! He ended up skating the whole way around once carrying her and then she was done. And perfectly content with just watching! (Good thing we used a coupon!) Daddy skated a little longer (we were hoping she'd change her mind, but she didn't!) - Too much like her Mommy I'm afraid! Michael took me one year on our anniversary and I held on to the side and his hand the whole time! Hey, I didn't want to fall on the ice, it would be cold! haha

Elizabeth at 4 months old!
Elizabeth is growing so fast! We haven't had her 4 mo. check-up yet, since we just moved. I need to make her an appointment!
But here are some things to note about Elizabeth Anne at 4 months:
But here are some things to note about Elizabeth Anne at 4 months:- loves to babble, talk, coo, and smile
- we are still working on the giggles, she's starting to do it more
- loves to hold onto your finger while she's drinking her bottle
- loves to suck on her fingers or fist whatever she can fit into her mouth
- watches us everywhere, she really likes to watch Madilynn (is Madilynn ever still?)
- loves to play with her toys especially Wilber the butterfly (we've named them)
- she's tried out the activity center lately and enjoys playing for a little while
- She has 5 bottles a day, 6oz. every 4 hours
- Is awake for about 2 hours then naps for 1-2 hours
- Sleeps through the night
And the newest accomplishment...THE ROLL...she rolled from belly to back twice today!! Yeah Elizabeth!!
Wild Weekend
December 31st Nana and I left Utah for Arkansas. Here we are just before we all loaded up and headed to Salt Lake City airport!
Elizabeth looking so big...4 months old now!
Saturday I was a bridesmaid in Holly's wedding. It was so beautiful and was just perfect!
Me and my mom
Holly and I
I had a great time catching up with Lori and Amy who I hadn't seen in several years!
While at the wedding I also ran into my cousin Tracy!
Daddy did a great job while I was gone! I heard all kinds of stories of what happened while I was away...Sunday he took the girls to church, eat lunch at McDonalds, then to feed the ducks some bread. I heard that the geese pretty much swarmed them and came all the way up to the car, Elizabeth didn't even get to get out! They took a piece of bread right out of Madilynn's hand - they were really used to being fed! Ha

HaBut the best story I guess is that when he left the house to drive an hour and a half to the airport to pick me up, he forgot the diaper bag! He had gotten it all ready with extras even and ended up leaving it right beside the door! He had just fed Elizabeth before he left, so she was good for another 4 hrs. or so. They picked me up at 7pm and then we had reservations at P.F. Changs in SLC at 7:30pm! As we arrived to eat, we suspected Elizabeth may have a dirty diaper...we ended up asking a family at the table next to ours for a diaper and some wipes, we offered to pay them. They were happy to help and all was well! Whew!!
I meant to take a picture to post of Michael's fortune cookie paper, but here's what it said. "You will enjoy doing something different this coming weekend" I thought it was fitting given the circumstances! haha
After we got home I handed out everyones surprises!
Here we are reading one of Madilynn's new books before bedtime.
