The Playroom...

We've spent a lot more time in the playroom this week! Daddy was home sick a couple of days and I don't think he could hear us if we were down there...He's finally all better!
Madilynn with the towers she built all by herself!
Some pictures of the playroom itself...
We are working on Madilynn learning how to spell her name. She can recognize all the letters in her name now - we just worked on the "i" and the "l".

Elizabeth playing during "tummy time" trying to encourage crawling!
Lots more time will be spent down there in the future I'm sure!

Seven Months

Elizabeth is 7 months old already?!?!

All dressed up before church this morning...
Elizabeth turning 7 months gave us a good excuse to make homemade cupcakes (not that she could even eat any!) Madilynn helped me yesterday afternoon and we made Chocolate cupcakes with light blue frosting!
Here's Madilynn icing her own cupcake!
Here's some pictures of our Saturday...

She let Daddy hold her like a baby...
such a sweetie...
Okay, here are 3 videos of Elizabeth to document her current stage...
1)Laughing - she's laughing out loud a lot more these days and it doesn't take as much work from us as it used to!

2)Moving - She's not crawling yet, but she's going backwards and in a circle all over the place. Here you can see her recent attempts at learning to crawl

3)Grunting - She's got this grunting thing that she does that is HILARIOUS! I wish I knew what she means by it, it's like she wants down, but I don't know...

Granny & Pepaw came to Visit - Part 2

We went on many more adventures get ready there are lots of pictures...
It began to feel like Spring this week, so we spent lots of time outside! Here's some pictures of Elizabeth enjoying the sunshine with her hat on...I thought these turned out good!

Elizabeth trying on Madilynn's princess crown - ha!
Tuesday afternoon we took a trip to the zoo. It's a small park/zoo here in Logan just a few blocks from our house. Madilynn enjoyed seeing all of the animals - we saw deer, bobcat, porcupine, elk, bald eagle, and lots of ducks & geese. The monkeys weren't out - maybe we'll see them next time!
Elizabeth watching the ducks
After seeing all the animals we played in the park...Elizabeth got to try out the swing for the first time! Daddy pushing both girls!
Elizabeth loved it!
With lots of time outside Madilynn got to explore the playhouse in the backyard! There is a ladder inside to go up into the top...she is now a pro at going up and down, she calls it her school...
Wednesday morning we headed out to Brigham City, UT to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. We drove through a 12 mile auto tour of the area to see all of the birds, swans, ducks & geese! We let Madilynn & Elizabeth get out of their seats to see!

Having a ball!
There were thousands of swans, but they were so far away we just saw them with binoculars. There were beautiful views of the mountains and the water. Here are some geese we were able to get close enough to before they flew off - the water was still frozen in some places...
Wednesday afternoon Daddy finished up raking the leaves in the backyard (with Madilynn's help)! There's still some snow on the side yards and in the front yard, so we'll have to wait a little longer for those. The temperature got up into the low 60's it was great - I almost broke out the flip flops!!
Elizabeth even enjoyed hanging out in the backyard in her new set-up!
We had lots of fun!! So glad Spring is here - I love all the sunshine!!

Granny & Pepaw came to Visit - Part 1

Granny & Pepaw came to visit!! They got here last Wednesday evening and just left this morning. We have had a BIG time and stayed busy!!! We explored some new things in Utah and spent some time just hanging out at home...

Friday we headed out to Bear Lake...
Here we are at the Bear Lake overlook

Then we drove into Garden City, UT (located on the lake) to eat lunch - Elizabeth is now sitting in the highchair!
Elizabeth has also found out that she likes to drink water out of a cup...
so we gave her her own cup...it wasn't as easy!
Sunday morning before church there was snow on the deck, and by the afternoon it was all melted and Madilynn got to ride her bike! Daddy took her out to ride on the driveway, she's getting the hang of it again!
Granny and the girls!
Enjoying the backyard...we even got the grill going - yeah!!
We came home one evening to six deer in the yard beside ours...
Elizabeth has found her toes!
Stay tuned for part 2 of their visit - lots more adventures!!

She's Moving...

She started out yesterday morning on her blanket playing with piggy - awww!
This girl finds the tag on everything and has to put it in her mouth, so funny to watch her!
She's moving...backwards! Here she is completely off the blanket!
Madilynn giving her hugs...
Then yesterday afternoon she was playing on the blanket again...a few minutes later she had moved all the way to the wall. The doctor said it was time to think about baby proofing, but I didn't know it would be this soon! She is also moving around in a circle on her belly!
And here's Madilynn showing off her new lamp in her room! Notice the dress up clothes and heels...she's been playing this a lot lately!
We've all been feeling better finally. Elizabeth is finishing up her antibiotics, but she is doing much better. No more runny noses for either of the girls, and we've finally been able to get out some - yeah!
Today we have beautiful sunny skies, and the snow is melting...we can see the ground...spring is coming! We are ready to see Granny & Pepaw, we are picking them up from the airport tonight and they'll be here visiting for a week...lots of fun to come...Madilynn is sooo excited!

Six Month Check-Up...

Elizabeth's six month check-up was this morning! She weighs 16lbs. 11oz. and is 26.5 inches long! She was 50th percentile in weight, and 75th in height. So just growing steady!!
I took these pictures a couple of nights ago...thought I would share!
By the way we are back to cloth diapers...as of last week! I know it took a while...moving, etc., but we're back to it and it's going really well! I haven't had to wash as often, she's not going through as many a day as before we moved, so that's nice!

Ready for Spring...

Here's an update of Elizabeth's teeth taken on Tuesday! They're coming on in!!
Elizabeth has had a cold for the past week and was doing "okay", her cough has even gotten much better. But, yesterday she didn't want her bottle, so I took her into the doctor and she has an ear infection. I guess after a week of the mucousy cold it finally did it...so we got her antibiotic and hopefully she'll be lots better soon!
At dinner time yesterday we caught these two bucks...they were quite entertaining while we ate! Madilynn has been talking about painting lately, so I had been thinking...I didn't really want the messiness of finger paints again...then it hit me...what did I used to use...watercolors!! So we picked some up yesterday when we got Elizabeth's medicine.
Madilynn painting this morning after breakfast! She was so intensely focused, even when I said I was going to take her picture she didn't even look up and smile, she was just so focused!
She did a great job and chose to paint some princesses out of her coloring books! She stayed busy with this activity for over 30 minutes - wow! Most of the time it doesn't seem like we last that long with something. She just kept telling me how much she liked painting...we'll be doing this a lot more I'm sure...and so easy with no mess!
Well, we are ready for Spring!!! After being couped up inside for the last couple of weeks with the girls and their colds we are ready for some warmer weather that we can get out and enjoy!
Today after lunch I noticed it was pretty and sunny outside with temperatures in the 50's. I thought we should get out and enjoy it, so I stuck Elizabeth in her bouncy chair at the door, and Madilynn and I went out and played on the deck for about an hour. We swept off the leaves, played with a ball, and did hopscotch. Elizabeth watched us, then I brought her out for a few minutes before we came in.
Okay quick story...While we were outside Madilynn saw our grill, and she said, "We have a BBQ!". I said "yep, we have a grill", then she said "we can make some hotdogs!"
Okay Daddy, it's time to get the propane tank...and finally enjoy our grill since it's been in storage for the last 2.5 years!! We're ready for spring...and flowers!!
