Easter Weekend!

Saturday the girls (Madilynn) couldn't wait till it was time to dye eggs! We ran errands Sat. morning...ate at the bread place, went to the seed store and got onion and strawberries to plant, rented a tiller, and went by lowes. So we dyed eggs right after lunch!

all smiles
getting everything set up, Elizabeth had to check out the cups

dissolving the colors

Ohhh!

Wow! Madilynn is so excited!

Madilynn with her egg

Daddy had to show us how the shrink wrap was done! I told him I never remembered getting out the hairdryer to do those...

Elizabeth pretty much cracked every egg she touched!

She decided to take the stickers off of her egg and put them on the apple and then put them back. It kept her entertained for a little while!

All of our eggs! Next year I'm sure we'll do more, but we kept it simple this time.

After nap time it was time for the egg hunt! Entering the backyard...I see one already!

Madilynn got the first one

We had to point them out to Elizabeth, but once she saw it she got it quick!

Another one under the rock!

Saturday evening after supper Madilynn helped me make Strawberry cake for Sunday! It was all pink so she loved it!

Madilynn helped until this point, then she said, "I've already seen you do that icing, so I don't have to watch you ice the other cake. I'm going downstairs with Daddy & Elizabeth." So I said okay. Then a little while later they came up for bed and I had it all done and Madilynn said, "Where's the other cake?" haha I had to explain that they were stacked and she'd see when we cut it.

Sunday morning at breakfast Daddy read Matthew 28 -The Resurrection at the table. We even had some little questions for Madilynn about what we read and she answered them right - so smart!

Before we left for church

I thought this was cute...Elizabeth looking at Madilynn

After church we got a friend to take our family picture!

Then we came home for lunch...Daddy had round steak in the crock pot, and we had baked potatoes and corn with it. Madilynn posing at the bar (you know, she was up there eating on the olives and pickles - we ate the entire jar of sweet pickles at lunch!)

And then had cake for dessert!

We got to talk with lots of family yesterday. Then we did a video chat with Nana, Papa, & Ashlee. The first time we've "seen" Ashlee since she moved out to California! She showed us around the house she's living in, and the girls pretended to eat BBQ chicken with her - so cute!

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

23 weeks

At 23 weeks with baby girl #3!

The pregnancy has been very uneventful (which is a good thing!), and things are moving right along. I can't believe I'm past the halfway mark already! I've begun to feel her moving a lot more lately...much stronger movements. Michael has been able to feel her already too! I feel like my belly has really started to show more just in the last couple of weeks. So far I've gained 4 lbs. and at my next appt.(first week in May) I'm having the diabetes test and other blood work done. Madilynn has even pointed out my belly a couple of times lately and says, "the baby is getting big!"

The bedding I ordered for the crib arrived on Friday, so here's a sneak peak...
Michael and I have decided on a color for the room and we are getting excited to start working on it! I hope to start painting/decorating the room in May - when things slow down a bit! (yea, right! - but the semester will be over).

And another picture of me from Sunday. This is for my mom - see this is one of the new dresses I got!

Just in case you were wondering...We have decided on a name for baby girl #3, but we haven't shared with anyone yet! I'm sure we'll share with family before posting, and we may even wait to post it till she arrives!! Ahhh, the excitement!!

Randoms from last Friday...

Last Friday afternoon when Madilynn woke up from her nap we were entertained by this little miniature horse for awhile! It was so cute and had been let out of a smaller pen, so we got to watch it run around the field and act silly! We were both laughing!

Elizabeth napped much longer and finally we had to go in and get her up...but, before we woke her we got a picture! Sleeping so good in her big bed!
Curly hair after her nap!

Saturday afternoon they got a package from Nana & Mama. I got a picture of the girls checking out/trying on their new necklaces and bracelets from Nana & Papa. This is all Elizabeth wanted to do with the necklace was stretch it out as far as it would go.

Madilynn with her necklace on.

Back to Friday evening...Michael had to work late, so after the girls' nap and snack we headed out for some shopping! We went to Hobby Lobby for a bit and then got a pizza to bring home for dinner. The girls loved it and we had a great time. Here's a little video of what was going on at the table while we were enjoying pizza and chocolate chip cookies!

I think they were trying to make up there own rap song or something, but I'm not sure where they came up with the idea.

Our Week...

Sunday morning we woke up to some snow! I thought this view of the mountains peaking through the clouds was beautiful. This was taken from our living room.

By Monday afternoon it was all melted and had warmed up quite a bit. We got out and spent some time enjoying the yard. The girls running... Elizabeth found lots of rocks
Madilynn, so beautiful!
just a swingin'
Elizabeth even had to check out the front yard and the front door
Watching Daddy dig some dirt out of a window well. Madilynn found lots of worms, she thought it was so cool!
Then she helped Daddy plant some pansies in the backyard.
I looked over and this is what Elizabeth was doing while they were planting. She's getting more rocks!
We spent lots of time on the slide. Elizabeth learned how to climb the ladder all by herself!
progress...after we finished the flowers we headed to Chick-fil-A for dinner. Such a fun evening!!
Elizabeth has been loving these sunglasses this week. She carries them everywhere and wears them most of the time in the car.

We made chocolate chip cookies for the first time in our new house last night. They were so good as always! We shared with our small group.

Playing in the kitchen this morning before we picked up Daddy for lunch.

Ready for the weekend...even though things aren't really slowing down yet! It's supposed to be rainy most of the weekend. Still ready for a little down time! The semester is almost over - Michael has started telling me daily - only 2 weeks of classes left then it's May and finals. Crazy!! But, we're soooo ready for some summer! And we've got to get some good weather for a few days so we can get our garden started.

Monday April 4, 2011 - Big Girl Bed!

Monday night we took down the pack n play and set up the toddler bed for Elizabeth. She's 19mo. old. Madilynn was 22mo. old when we switched her to the toddler bed, but it was because she climbed out of her crib.

Here she is checking it out while I made her bed.

just precious! So big!!!
she was clapping!
Here's what the girls room looks like now!
They've done really well considering all the transitions taking place. We haven't had any issues with bedtime. I think since it's so dark in there she's not going to get up, but nap time is another story...I have to go in there 2 or 3 times and lay her back down. When they woke up this morning they came into the kitchen like this, it was so sweet!
