Eleven Months

Elizabeth is ELEVEN months old today!!
She's getting around any way she can - look only holding on with one hand!
We've been working with her on walking around and holding her hands, but she doesn't care for it too much. After a bit she'll drop her knees and just want to crawl!
Having a juice break with Madilynn this morning...
She's still eating so well! I haven't found one thing that she won't eat. She loves peas, green beans, mac & cheese, spaghetti, cheese, yogurt, banana, kiwi, peaches, potatoes, pinto beans and lots more that I'm forgetting...Tonight she had some chicken and rice and did well with that. She just has 2 8oz. bottles a day (afternoon & bedtime) and the rest of the time she's drinking out of a cup! We'll be transitioning those to cups too very soon...

I caught her sleeping with her arm out of the crib!

After nap she was in such a good mood!
Tried something different with the camera with no flash - so they're a little blurry, but I had to share anyway!
In the evenings after dinner we've been enjoying popsicles out on the deck and Elizabeth even gets herself a couple of bites. Tonight after working out we went to get some ice cream (I know it doesn't make sense, but it was soooo hot!) I had orange sherbet and Elizabeth shared with me- she loved it! She definately gets her share of treats too, just no ice cream, milk, or cake till her birthday - can't wait!!!

Projects, Pioneer Day, and a Swing Set!

So we began the 3 day weekend on Thursday night by starting a couple of projects. We decided to paint/update our chest and repaint Madilynn's bedside table.

Here's our chest before...(note: it was a hand me down and is older than Michael!)
Here it is after! We love it!!
Here's Madilynn's bedside table before...(white with paint chipping in several places)
And here it is after! We decided to spice it up a bit with Pistachio green!
Saturday was Pioneer Day here, so after breakfast we headed over to the park where the events took place. They had stuff going on all day long! We played at the park with the girls, ate lunch, then watched the parade before heading home for naps. Madilynn enjoyed the parade and she gathered up lots of candy! After naps we hung out and ate dinner then enjoyed dessert out on the deck - popsicles and roasted marshmallows!! Then we decided to head back up to the park to see the fireworks!!
Funny picture of Elizabeth swinging while we were waiting for it to get dark!
Sitting out on our blanket still waiting...
It's getting dark!
Darker...
Fireworks!!!
I was afraid Elizabeth would get upset at the fireworks since they are so loud, but she didn't. Towards the end of the show she was laying back in the stroller watching and everytime they went off she would laugh!
Sunday after church we had a lazy day!

Sunday evening we did make a quick trip to Wal-Mart and while we were there we noticed that the swingset we've been eyeing all summer was on sale $40 off! We went ahead and got it and Daddy put it together late Sunday evening, I think it was about 10:30pm when he finished.
So, this afternoon we went out to let the girls try it out!
They had a great time! Elizabeth loves the swing and screamed when I took her out!
the slide!
I'm so excited to have this in the backyard now! Lots of fun to come out there!! It's in the shade for most of the day, except for the 30min. we were out there yesterday!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Busy Week!

Last week was pretty busy! Michael was on campus everyday teaching a block class 1-5pm. He left after breakfast and would get home around 6 or 6:30...the girls really missed him!!
Elizabeth more interested in books lately and has been practicing turning the pages one at a time!
Madilynn started gymnastics on Thursday! She'll go Tues/Thurs through the second week in August - yeah! She was so excited!! (Forgot to take my camera for pics in action, will do next time!) It was great and she did so well following instructions!
Elizabeth can now climb up into the chair by herself!
at the table
she can even climb onto the table
Friday afternoon I worked with Madilynn on riding her bike and she's doing much better already!! She's learning how those handlebars work!!
Then we mowed the yard with Elizabeth's help! I even mowed for awhile with Elizabeth strapped on - talk about a workout! Flip-flops weren't exactly appropriate for the hills in the backyard!
Saturday we ate breakfast at our new favorite spot - they have yummy pumpkin chocolate chip bread (the girls love) and yummy cinnamon rolls! Then we browsed a home decor store we hadn't been to, it was pretty cool. Then made the Wal-Mart trip for groceries, and came home for lunch and naps! During naptime Daddy went down to the river just to see if he could catch a fish and he did - a brown trout!
After naps we got our swimsuits on and lathered ourselves in sunscreen and made our way to the aquatic center. We spent a couple of hours and had a great time! Elizabeth floated in her ring and she would just squeel she loves the water! Madilynn took a little bit to warm up and then she was under the mushroom (shower) and the buckets. She even rode the curvy slide with me and we both went under at the end, and she did great! She held her breath good. We didn't take the camera to the water park...you can imagine!
Then we came home for dinner hamburgers, deviled eggs, and key lime pie! I made the deviled eggs and pie during nap time so it would be ready when we got home it worked out great!
Elizabeth enjoying her avacado...she has to do the spoon by herself these days. We dip it then give it to her and she eats it...sort of!
We even had a little avacado on our burgers, it was so good! We had a great day Saturday!
Sunday morning - all dressed for church! Madilynn's beautiful dress!
both of the pretty dresses - Thank you Mama!!
So cute!
Michael did a little more fishing at naptime and caught a large brown trout. He says the largest he's ever caught!
beautiful...he put it back - you can see the river from the deck here...
Doing a little fly fishing
The girls woke up and we joined him down by the river...talk about convenient!!
I thought this was cool of them both!
Here's our garden these days...I was picking some snap peas (that we'll be eating tonight!) and Madilynn is standing beside the corn. I just realized the peas are as tall as me!
Broccoli finally!!
The whole garden
the peas
and I had to get a couple of pictures of Elizabeth in her dress outside!
clapping

We had a great weekend and have been enjoying the HOT weather!!! This coming Friday is a holiday here in Utah called Pioneer Day...can't wait for the 3 day weekend! Wonder what we'll do???

Uh-Oh!

Well, it's been a week...thought I should get caught up on all the happenings around here lately...
Elizabeth has been saying "Uh-Oh" for about the last week...all the time! When she drops her pacifier in her crib, when she drops her cup a the table, playing...and most recently when she's holding food off the side of the table she'll say "Uh-Oh" just before she drops it on the floor. She only starts dropping it on the floor when she's done eating. She's eating so good these days, it seems like about as much as Madilynn. Also down to just 2 bottles a day (afternoon and evening)...she gets formula in her cup at breakfast and lunch and that has worked well this week!
Enjoying spagetti for the first time...she loved it! Actually I haven't found anything that she won't eat!!
Over the past week she has become quite the climber...
I've even caught her up on the coffee table twice! (She uses the Dora couch to climb up!)

reading books more these days...
One evening last week we went to check out Porcupine Resevoir about 25min. out of town

Sunday all dressed for church...check out those top teeth!!
We've seen more of this lately...she's starting to throw "little" fits already!
I thought the back of this dress was so so cute with the little scoop...

So hard to get a picture of them both still and looking at the camera!
without eyes closed...and you're lucky if you get smiles - ha!
Check out those teeth!
Madilynn in her new dress! Thank you Mama! She loves it!
So, speaking of climbing...yesterday I watched as Elizabeth used a small barn toy as a step and made her way up onto the bench!
Elizabeth with her cup...
Today before naptime we headed outside to play sidewalk chalk. Elizabeth had to be involved, so when I let her she just loved it and thought she was so big! She did try to eat one a couple of times, but overall she did pretty good...even made a few marks on the driveway!
Well Madilynn finished up preschool for the summer last week, and she can't wait to go back in the fall! She'll be starting gymnastics later this week - she's so excited!!
Stay tuned...
