34 weeks

So, here I am at 34 weeks. 5 weeks from tomorrow is our scheduled delivery day! I don't go back to the doctor until next week (He's out of the office this week). Everything is going really well. Baby girl is definately a mover, and I feel her move on my left side everytime. While, Madilynn seemed to be only on the right side of my belly. It's funny that it's just the opposite. I still have quite a bit of energy, and I don't have any swelling. (I had lots of swelling in my ankles with Madilynn - probably all that Arkansas heat.) Last week I finished up some sewing projects, I hemmed 2 flannel receiving blankets and made another thicker flannel blanket. I also made a nursing cover and sewed some ribbon on a couple of white burp cloths - they turned out really cute! The only thing I really have left to do is wash everything. I've gone through all of Madilynn's baby clothes and have them all organized and ready, I just have to run everything through the wash before she arrives. I think I'll start on that next week!

Iowa Games and Pool at the Park!

This weekend Michael played soccer in the Iowa Games. He had 3 games, 2 on Saturday, and 1 on Sunday. Here are some pics of him he's number 27.

This is how Madilynn enjoyed some of the game, laying back on her towel and playing or watching the clouds. I think she was singing a song here...

On Sunday morning we stayed home and got ready for church while Daddy had an early soccer game. Madilynn's first dress attempt (this one's for Nana - she has it on!) At first when I got this dress out she said, "No, it's for baby sister". Well I got her to put it on, but I just didn't think it was long enough (size 18mo.) for church, so we got this quick picture.

So she wore this dress instead. She calls it her "circle dress".

Here's me and Madilynn after church

Then Sunday afternoon after her nap, we took her to the wading pool at the park. She had a big time and really wore herself out, she was also shivering cold.

After playing for about 45 min. she was done and we got her changed and she played on the playground for a while. Here she is running from the swings to the playground.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Yummy Food!

We've been cooking up some good food lately and using vegetables grown in our pots! Last week I made a Zuccini Lasagna that turned out really good. Don't have any pics, but we had a couple of really big zuccini from our plants, so we sliced them thinly and used it instead of lasagna noodles. It was so good, we ate it all up, including the leftovers!

Then we picked these peppers this weekend...
And got some fresh picked sweet corn from the farm on Friday! yeah!!

So, Saturday night I made our Chili concoction using the anaheim pepper (we'll save the bell peppers for some chicken fajitas!) and we had corn on the cob with it! So yummy!
Madilynn loved the corns, and after having it two nights in a row we decided not to have any last night and she was still asking for more!
I just have to share this pic of Papa and Madilynn its so good! (Taken on cell phone)
Wuv you Papa!

4th Weekend

Memaw (Granny) and Pepaw came to visit this weekend! Madilynn had a blast, even though it rained most of the day Saturday she still found time to play outside, and inside! We had planned to go to the parade, but since it was raining we watched it for about 10 minutes. Long enough for Madilynn to see the fire trucks and want to see more. Then we decided to go inside and eat lunch!

Saturday night Michael and I got a little time away and we went to watch the fireworks in town. Thought I better get a picture of us together while someone was here to take it!

Then, Sunday morning we took Granny and Pepaw fishing before they had to leave. Madilynn got to show off her fishing spot and even play around some more.

Bye.. hope everyone had a nice weekend!!

Daddy's Girl!

Since Friday was a holiday, we started the weekend early! Daddy took Madilynn fishing Friday morning. Madilynn was so excited and as they were leaving she said, " I going fishing with Daddy, you stay here" as she pointed her finger at me. Clearly she needed a little Daddy time.
Here they are before they left, Madilynn acting shy
For it just being the two of them, Daddy did a great job documenting their outing in pictures!
Nice fish!

Madilynn's interest only lasts so long, then she's on to other things. I thought these were really cute of her playing!

After they got back they watered the plants and then Daddy took her to the park! What a fun morning! Mommy got some quiet time at home and loved it!!
On a side note: Nana found some new flower bedding for Madilynn and here it is finally on her bed. I also painted her "m" according to the colors she picked out and it ended up matching perfectly! She loves the dots!

30 weeks

Well, this week is 30 weeks, I can't believe we are now less than 9 weeks away from meeting baby girl! I had a doctor's appt this week (the first of the 2 wk appts).
Some things to note:
  • Baby girl's heartbeat in the 140's
  • She continues to move a lot, definately a lot bigger now (and stronger), she seems to move more in the afternoons (when I sit and rest) and in the evenings. Then she moves a lot at night too.
  • Doctor says she is currently in breech position
  • I have gained a total of 14lbs. so far
  • I can definately tell a difference in the size of my belly from the last pic (4 weeks ago), some of my maternity shirts are getting too short!
  • Madilynn has been really sweet lately, she tells me almost daily, "Mommy your belly's getting big!" so funny - she has finally noticed. And I tell her it's because the baby is growing and getting bigger.
  • Madilynn sits with me in our big rocker/glider and tells me she wants to see the baby so she looks at my belly and puts her hand on it to feel it moving. She tells me that when "sister" comes out we will rock her, and I said we sure will. She seems to really be understanding!
  • I've signed Madilynn up for a big sister class at the hospital and I think she'll love it! (It'll be in August closer to baby's arrival)
  • Mommy and Daddy have re-decided on a name for baby girl...we've gone back to the one we had at the ultrasound appt. I think we are set! It's definately been different this time keeping it a secret, we aren't getting to bounce names off people and talk about it a lot.

And here's a good pic of Mommy and Madilynn before church on Sunday!

hey, my eyes are open!!

Strawberries

This past Saturday morning Daddy took Madilynn to a local berry farm where you can pick your own strawberries. He thought Madilynn would enjoy it and we wanted some fresh strawberries.

They picked a little over a pound, and had a good time! We enjoyed eating them for the next few days!
