A Little Bit of Everything...

I caught this buck IN our backyard last Thursday. This was the first time we have seen a deer on our side of the river. I took pictures from inside the living room, but it seems like he was watching us...we weren't any harm so he continued to eat! It must have already started shedding, because it only had antlers on one side!
Elizabeth is saying, "I want the camera!" while she's trying to grab it!
Last Friday Madilynn and Elizabeth got to take a bath together! Now that Elizabeth is sitting up pretty good this is more of an option. We took over the downstairs bathroom for the girls' bathtime. There aren't doors on the bath, just a curtain which makes it much easier to give them a bath!

Daddy took Madilynn to the doctor last Friday for her cough, it has sounded really bad. And she got some cough medicine, not exactly sure what she has/had. So we've spent a lot of time at home this last week! Perfect for making some home-made Cinnamon Rolls!! Michael made the dough, I made the cinnamon mixture, and we put them together Friday night and then baked them Saturday morning! Thank you Daddy!!

The CALM before the STORM... I think this is the perfect illustration!
All is well while they play separately on their blankets with their own toys...I just can't wait to see what happens when Elizabeth becomes mobile...

The girls before supper Tuesday night

As of Wednesday I noticed Elizabeth starting to cough and her voice sounds pretty hoarse - poor baby! We were trying so hard so she wouldn't get sick too! It's so hard to keep them separated all the time! They love each other so much!
Today I made some banana bread...the first recipe I've tried out of Jessica Seinfeld's Deceptively Delicious cookbook my mom gave me for Christmas!

so yummy! Madilynn loved it - great morning snack!!

And last, but certainly not least...Elizabeth's got TWO TEETH!!
Please excuse the zucchini/cereal mess...you may have to enlarge to see!
I didn't know if I'd be able to get a picture of those teeth anytime soon, but today at lunch she was trying out the spoon and I realized I could see her teeth really well, so I grabbed the camera!

Her bottom left tooth cut through the gums this past Sunday the 21st, and the bottom right just cut through on Tuesday, so you can't see it as well, but you can tell her gums are swollen and red! Looks like she would like to feed herself...
Elizabeth is doing well eating. So far she's tried...acorn squash, butternut squash, sweet peas, apples, pears, zucchini, and up next...sweet potatoes this weekend!

Our Valentine's Weekend!

First of all Thank You Mama & Papaw for the bears (and chocolate) we got in the mail this week! Here's the girls Friday afternoon with their bears!
Friday night we drove down to Brigham City (about 30 min. away)...
where we ate dinner as a family at Maddox (steak restaurant)...

and Michael picked up some chocolates and surprised me with strawberries from a downtown candy shop! yum!
Saturday we spent most of the day just hanging out at home, playing with the girls and watching the olympics! I have really enjoyed watching it. I have a whole new respect for all of the ski sports after just learning to ski myself.

This morning we had a bit of a photo shoot!
Aren't they so cute in their pajamas!
playing with the bears

We attempted another timed family photo before church this morning...we didn't have anyone to get Elizabeth to look up:)
The girls...We thought this one was hilarious of Elizabeth...

and lets both put our hands in our mouths...
Mommy and the girls...
Daddy and his girls...
and lets all put our hands in our mouths...haha
Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I think we had too much fun!!

Our Week...

Monday I made some butternut squash puree baby food for Elizabeth. Then yesterday I made sweet peas puree. So far she has tried acorn squash, butternut squash, and sweet peas. I think she hs enjoyed the peas the most. With both kinds of squash she would start gaging on just about each bite, and she didn't do that with the peas! Next I think I'm going to try a fruit, but I'm not sure which one to start with - apples or pears - we'll see what I can find at the store!

Monday morning Elizabeth having tummy time, she's playing so good on her tummy!

Another first this week: A lesson with Madilynn & Elizabeth on sharing (I'm SURE it won't be the last!) Elizabeth was playing with a tea cup - as seen below - she got a hold of it herself. Well all of a sudden Madilynn saw that Elizabeth had her tea cup and she said, "Elizabeth, that's mine" and took it away from her. (I just wanted to die out laughing, I couldn't believe she did that!) Anyways, so then we had our talk and Elizabeth got to continue playing with the tea cup!

How 'bout them Cowboys?
Madilynn sporting Daddy's cap today before lunch!

And for perhaps the biggest first of the week: Elizabeth is sitting up, yes SITTING UP!
Wow! Can I really say that today?!?! She sat up and played for at least 10 minutes today after lunch! I sat beside her and let her bounce off of me every now and then when she got a little wobbly, but for the most part she sat there and played!
See the proof!

Poor baby is like her Mommy, it's going to be so hard to get pictures with her eyes open. She just anticipates that flash everytime you get the camera out she starts blinking a lot! So funny!!

That's my leg behind her, but it's not touching her. I was a few inches behind her just in case!
I'm so glad it's FRIDAY...and it really has nothing to do with Valentine's this weekend...we just LOVE it when Daddy gets to hang out with us more!!!

Papa and Ashlee arrived...

**Get ready there are lots of pictures!!**
Papa and Ashlee flew into SLC on Friday night and they arrived at our house at 2am Saturday morning. We waited until about 10am on Saturday to wake them up for Biscuits & Gravy!
Good Morning Ashlee...
Elizabeth and Papa
After lounging around the house Sat. morning we decided to head to the park for some sledding!
Here's Ashlee...
and Papa...
We had a blast! Madilynn and I decided to try going down the hill without a sled, just using our snow pants...and it worked! Ashlee and I rode the sled together and by the time we got to the bottom we were cracking up...it was hilarious!

Ashlee and Elizabeth playing
Madilynn wearing one of my old dresses, she calls it the "Mother Goose dress" and she loves it!
Then Sunday morning we headed out at 9am for Beaver Mountain...we took Papa skiing for his first time!
Papa and I shared an instructor to learn the proper techniques. Papa was good to go after just an hour!

Here we are out on the "bunny slopes"!
Nana, Ashlee, Madilynn and Elizabeth hung out in the lodge. Then Ashlee took Madilynn out and she did a little sliding with her snow pants on!

Sunday afternoon (after naps!) we took them out in the backyard to see the river...
Madilynn and Papa making snow angels!

We also did some more sledding in the backyard!!
Madilynn even carried her own sled back up the hill to go again. When it was time to go inside she said, "but I wanna go again, and again, and again, then we can go in!" Ashlee gave her one more time and then it was time to go inside.
Ashlee and Elizabeth
We had a great weekend! It was packed full of activities, but I think everyone had a blast!! Can't wait till ya'll can visit again! As I type Nana & Papa are flying back to AR, and Ashlee is sitting at the SLC airport waiting for her flight back to LA. It is so crazy that we are all living so far away from each other. We are so thankful to get to spend the weekend all together!!
