The Zoo!

I thought we should share exactly why we go to this bakery EVERY Saturday morning...
it's for this
and all of this...
We share everything (hopefully keeps our portions okay sized, right?) The girls love the pumpkin choc chip bread, even Elizabeth can eat a whole piece!
So, after enjoying our favorite Saturday morning breakfast we headed down to Salt Lake City to the Zoo!!
We ate lunch just across from the Rhinos...
the BIG thing was the elephants and the baby elephant had just turned 1! They were amazing to see sooo close!

Elizabeth loved watching the elephants she kept her arms raised for so long while she watched them...so cute
She says, "Wow!"
Here we are in front of the elephants!
Daddy and the girls
the camels
checking out the small reptiles that were indoors
watching a lizard try to climb up the glass
Elizabeth trying to get the cats
the giraffe
So crazy to be so close to these also!
We took a walk through the gift shop to enjoy some air conditioning!!! Madilynn enjoyed trying on the masks!
We handed Elizabeth this slimy squishy thing and she wasn't sure about it, but she got a hold of the paper and kept her other hand back...her face says it all...so funny!
Madilynn so beautiful!
In the prairie dog exhibit there were these pop outs so you could be up close to them...here's Daddy and Madilynn checking them out!
After the zoo we did some shopping at the mall then headed to dinner at P.F. Changs! It was so good! We even got home before dark only took us an hour and 15 min. to get back!
Sunday morning Daddy got the girls ready while I got ready. He decided it was time to try a ponytail for Elizabeth. So here's her first pigtails!!
Today we just had a lazy day at home to catch up on laundry and some cleaning. And of course the girls had lots of play time!
Madilynn has been telling me that when she gets big she'll be able to help me with the laundry and I've told her yes you will!! So today I was folding some towels and I asked her if she wanted to try the washcloths and (of course) she said yes (excitedly - I'll remind her of that later!!). So I handed her a washcloth and she showed me how she would fold it - it was more just rolled up. So, then I showed her just to fold it in half twice and she did it! And she ended up folding lots of washcloths for me today!!!
Here she is in action
Then this evening she was being silly and put on Daddy's boots he had just taken off at the door!
so cute! Makes her look even smaller than she is! I can't believe how big she's getting and will be starting preschool in the fall! She's so excited and can't wait for school!
Well, not much going on around here this week, we're taking it easy...Daddy on the other hand is super busy getting everything ready for school to start. University starts back on the 30th.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today we celebrated Mommy's birthday! We love her so much. Thank you God for creating her just for us. Mommy you keep us fed, clean, and organized. Thank you so much for all that you do. We hope that today has been extra special. Lot's more to do tomorrow. P.F. Changs, Hogle Zoo, and much more.
I suprised Miranda with a beautiful bouqet of flowers (Different shades of pink and purple) when I came home from work. I probably made the florist tired. I kept asking her to go in and out of the cooler to get just the right flowers. Geber Daisies and Roses. Madilynn has been singing "Happy Birthday" to Miranda all day.

I took Miranda and the girls to our new favorite pizza hangout, Callaway's, for some extra yummy supreme pizza. Miranda said "I never thought growing up I would eat such things."

Miranda and Elizabeth having a good time.

"More, please!"
Elizabeth munching on cheese ravioli
Miranda kept saying "The pizza was amazing!"

Miranda had been eyeing this place called Temptation Cupcakes. So, earlier in the day the girls picked me up for lunch and we went to pick out Miranda's birthday cupcakes. They make gourmet cupcakes of various flavors. We took them with us to Callaway's. We had "apple"(which was just like an apple pie in a cupcake), "Vanilla Squared", "Red Velvet", "Chocolate Ganache", "Black and White", and "Kit-Kat".
Miranda showing off the Red Velvet for Nana & Papa. It had cream cheese icing.
After the cupcakes, Madilynn and Elizabeth had to sit in my lap. I hope they never get too big to hold. Thank you Miranda for blessing me with two great girls. You make me so happy. I love you.
Madilynn showing off the picture she drew at the restaurant. She said, "It's a man, it's Jesus!" Then later she said, "it's a silly man cause it has 2 chins and 4 eyes, it's silly!" We thought it was pretty good! What an imagination!

First Camping Trip!

Friday morning after picking up Daddy from the airport we headed out for a weekend of camping in Jackson Hole. Nana rode with us, since she stayed with us last week, and we met up with Papa when we got there, then Ashlee flew in on Saturday! It was so great to be able to spend the weekend all together!

Michael found my birthday present while he was away and wanted to give it to me there (about a week early)...check out my new purse!! And in the background...our set up...trailor/tent worked out well!
We hadn't had rain in Logan for about 2 months and it rained each day we were in Jackson including the evening we arrived! What's camping without rain, anyway? Michael unloaded in the rain, fun, fun! I realized the last day I hadn't taken any pics so here are some of the girls on the playground and campsite area having fun!
Saturday morning we drove into Jackson for some McDonalds. Then we went to a park for the kids to play and then checked out the farmers market. After that it was time to get Ashlee from the airport. Then Papa, Michael, and Ashlee went whitewater rafting for a couple of hours and they had a great time - no one fell out! Ha! Nana and I rested while the girls napped.
Cool rug Papa brought for the girls to play on!
Saturday night we all ate together at the Cadillac Grille, then ice cream at Moo's on the Jackson square - so fun!!
The lows at night were low 40's and it would get up into the 80's during the day. So, we wore multiple layers/outfits each day! The girls did great in their sweatshirts!
Madilynn at the playground...
Sunday Daddy went fly fishing after breakfast on the Snake River and caught four cut-throat trout. Then Sunday evening Michael and I had a date night while the girls stayed with Nana, Papa, & Ashlee.

Here are the girls hanging out while Daddy and Papa loaded up to leave on Monday morning. We headed home after lunch and they headed to Sturgis, SD.

We had a great time! Daddy can't wait to go back for more fishing!!

When we got home here's what we found in the garden!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We love you and miss you!! Hope you're having a great day! (Probably having a great time learning new things :)! Daddy is out of town this week, so we celebrated last Friday. Madilynn helped me make this special cake for Daddy.

Elizabeth found a new place to play in the kitchen while we were busy baking...

by the trash!

Reach, stretch, trying so hard to get those magnets...

For his birthday Michael got a new reel and line for his fly rod...more fishing in the near future!

We went and ate at a yummy new pizza place we just found last week then came home for cake!

Madilynn had already helped blow out some candles before I got the picture taken...

Elizabeth loved it, and wished she could have some cake too! She doesn't have much longer to wait.

So the cake we made is a white cake with key lime filling and a homemade strawberry frosting. Exactly what Daddy asked for - very fruity and a little tart.

On another note: Look what we got out of the garden the other night!
