Projects, Pioneer Day, and a Swing Set!

So we began the 3 day weekend on Thursday night by starting a couple of projects. We decided to paint/update our chest and repaint Madilynn's bedside table.

Here's our chest before...(note: it was a hand me down and is older than Michael!)
Here it is after! We love it!!
Here's Madilynn's bedside table before...(white with paint chipping in several places)
And here it is after! We decided to spice it up a bit with Pistachio green!
Saturday was Pioneer Day here, so after breakfast we headed over to the park where the events took place. They had stuff going on all day long! We played at the park with the girls, ate lunch, then watched the parade before heading home for naps. Madilynn enjoyed the parade and she gathered up lots of candy! After naps we hung out and ate dinner then enjoyed dessert out on the deck - popsicles and roasted marshmallows!! Then we decided to head back up to the park to see the fireworks!!
Funny picture of Elizabeth swinging while we were waiting for it to get dark!
Sitting out on our blanket still waiting...
It's getting dark!
Darker...
Fireworks!!!
I was afraid Elizabeth would get upset at the fireworks since they are so loud, but she didn't. Towards the end of the show she was laying back in the stroller watching and everytime they went off she would laugh!
Sunday after church we had a lazy day!

Sunday evening we did make a quick trip to Wal-Mart and while we were there we noticed that the swingset we've been eyeing all summer was on sale $40 off! We went ahead and got it and Daddy put it together late Sunday evening, I think it was about 10:30pm when he finished.
So, this afternoon we went out to let the girls try it out!
They had a great time! Elizabeth loves the swing and screamed when I took her out!
the slide!
I'm so excited to have this in the backyard now! Lots of fun to come out there!! It's in the shade for most of the day, except for the 30min. we were out there yesterday!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Miranda, I love the color on the chest/dresser. Can you give me the details. I am looking for an espresso brown to paint a vanity in the bath. Did you spray paint?
