Fun Weekend!

Okay, so I'm doing a little catch-up... So, lets go back to the day after my previous post, which would be Jan. 11th, I introduced Eva to something other than rice cereal....butternut squash!

She seemed to kind of enjoy it, at least it's a different flavor, but the texture was a bit too thick.

I ended up mixing it with some cereal for the right consistency.
So big, scooting herself right off the blanket.

Daddy was supposed to take a trip for work down to NM Friday/Saturday (of the 3 day weekend). At the last minute (4hrs. before he left) we decided that us girls would go with him. He really didn't want to endure a 10hr. car ride alone! So that Friday night I entered the state of Colorado for the first time! We stayed (just barely inside Colorado) Friday & Saturday nights. Saturday morning he had a meeting in New Mexico (about an hour away). We tagged along, so we wouldn't be stranded at the hotel.

Entering New Mexico
Turns out we spent all morning in the car...might've been better to stay in the hotel. When we got back we ate dinner at about 3:00 in the afternoon at the Pizza Hut then headed back to the hotel to rest! (Did I mention we didn't get much sleep the night before - got there at 11pm - Eva slept much of the way there and was pretty sure it wasn't time to go back to sleep!)

After some resting Daddy decided to take the girls swimming...

Eva and I watched and took pictures. Elizabeth didn't care for the water at all at first.

She did eventually get in and not cry, but for a while this was the scene...

I thought it was a nice pool room with the mountains in the background.

Madilynn loved it of course!

Sunday morning we left Colorado to head back home. On the way we saw lots of interesting things...

I thought it was neat to see red rock then mountains with snow in the background.

Some friends told us to watch for this arch as we were driving back. We were able to stop and walk up to it. It was pretty windy and cold...Elizabeth wasn't excited about it at all!

Can hardly see Eva

the Colorado River in Moab, UT

We stopped at Arches National Park in Moab. (National Parks had free entry that weekend!)

This was our ride for the weekend...2011 Dodge Grand Caravan that we rented for the trip, and I have to say it was nice! We all had space and storage space.

We got out and walked to "balancing rock".

Again, Elizabeth wasn't thrilled. She had fallen asleep after we entered the park and I had to get her up, not happy. It was beautiful though for a January day!

at "balancing rock" - Eva was in the carseat/stroller staying warm!

There was lots more to see, but it involved hiking, so not this trip!

We enjoyed just getting to see what we could. It was beautiful!

On the way back, I was driving, and Elizabeth was showing Daddy her M&M's!

We had a good trip, and we were all a little tired by the time we got back! Lots of laundry and unpacking even after a 2 day trip, I can't imagine a longer one!
