Welcome Fall

Sunday afternoon we drove out the canyon to see the leaves changing colors! It was beautiful, the colors are so bright and bold this year! I don't remember seeing as much red last year, but maybe we went too late last year...

TOU Marathon & 5k

Friday night we had a "date night" to pick up our packets for the races and have dinner...

 Saturday morning just getting out of the car...Erika and I ran the 5k

 All finished...in great time!  I was so excited to beat my previous 5k time by 5.5minutes!!  This time I finished in 33:57 - yea!!

 Mommy with the girls...Eva was not thrilled! It was pretty chilly and she was sure to tell us what she thought about taking a picture...

 Meanwhile Michael had started running the Top of Utah Marathon at 7am.  We got to cheer him on at about mile 25...Go Daddy!!!

Apple Orchard and more...

Last weekend was opening day for picking apples at a local apple orchard!  We had never picked our own apples before so we went to check it out...

 Eva turned 13 months old on Monday the 10th!  She's not quite walking yet, but she is standing and will surf around everything.  She'll also hold one hand and walk.

 Sunday afternoon we tried out the Pioneer Woman's flat apple pie with some of those apples we'd just picked....delicious!

 Then Monday morning I tried out her maple scone recipe...very yummy, but I sent most of them with Michael to share at work!

 This is something Eva just started doing on Wednesday.  She'll climb up onto the mantle and stand up, then start screaming, "Mommy, Mommy!" until I come and get her down...

 Friday afternoon Madilynn got her new shoes!

 She also helped me make mocha brownies! 

On Friday we made these brownies and some pizza dough and sauce to have ready for Saturday afternoon.  It's the TOU Marathon and 5k for us...I had to have some treats all ready for Michael when he completes the marathon!

Happenings...

So, here's what's been happening around our house the past week and a half...

 School (Kindergarten/Preschool) is still going great!  Our schedule is good and we are all loving it!

 Last Friday we made the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls for Michael to take to his office - we ate a few too!! So yummy!

 Friday afternoon Madilynn's dance class had a special bring a friend day, so Elizabeth got to participate with her, all dressed and ready, but picture...not so much!

 Sunday morning Elizabeth helped Daddy make breakfast!

 Tuesday afternoon headed to gymnastics!  Elizabeth is loving it!!

 Wednesday evening  Michael and I toured the LDS temple that was just built in Brigham City.  Once dedicated in a couple of weeks it will no longer be open to the public.  I won't go into to details on here, but just wanted to document that we went...

 Friday morning the girls and I made pumpkin bread pudding together...

 Madilynn did really well measuring out the ingredients!

We didn't exactly love the bread pudding, but I was really proud of both of the girls for trying it without me even having to ask them!

 Friday night Michael and I had a little date night...we went to the USU vs. UofU football game.  It's a big rivalry here in the state. 

With our snow cone - we were in direct sun for a couple of hours and the ice was nice!

 USU ended up winning in overtime for the first time since 1997!!

We are ready for some Razorback football today!!  We'll be watching from our couch many, many miles away....Go Hogs!!
