I just thought I needed to get these down before I forget. Madilynn is so funny...the things she is saying these days. I think to myself I won't forget that one and then by later in the day I can't remember what it was.
A couple of weeks ago her new saying was "not yet" I still hear it every now and then, but not as often anymore. We had tried to start her with potty training. And I would ask her, " Do you need to go potty?" and she would reply, "Not Yet!"
Lately her saying is "Right Now". Michael and I discussed this morning that we don't think she really understands what it means, but it's so funny how she adds it to the end of everything she says. This morning I told her she was going to go play over at a friends house today. She was so excited then took off running down the hall to her bedroom, then she turned around and said, "I get clothes, right now!" while she pointed her finger at me. I just couldn't help but laugh, she is so silly. I explained that we weren't going right away, but she still went ahead and picked out some clothes to wear.
She is also very interested in the weather outside, she always notices when it's getting dark or dark and lets us know. She also points out if its raining, snowing, or sunny. It rained on us several times at the beginning of Spring Break and she would start singing the song, "It's raining, it's pouring" so funny to hear her sing that whole song just kind of picking out the words she does know. Yesterday morning it was raining here and we got out for bible study. It wasn't raining when we went, but by the time we were leaving it was pouring and it was the one time she was wearing a jacket without a hood. I picked her up and carried her to the car while she burried her head into my neck. When we got to the car and I put her in her seat she had such a distressed look on her face and couldn't believe that she had gotten wet. When we got home she was still talking about the rain. I then explained that rain was a good thing and it helped plants to grow. Like the trees and the flowers. And then she was excited and said yeah!! Then she didn't talk about it raining anymore...

16 Weeks
Just thought I'd give a pregnancy update... don't have any pictures yet. I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and everything is good. Baby's heartbeat is in the 150's (seems lower than what Madilynn's was this early, but I don't think I wrote it down anywhere to check). For the most exciting news...we got to schedule our next appt. for the ultrasound! So, April 21st at 20 weeks we'll get to find out boy or girl...we are so excited!!
Also, I am past the nausea stage, yay! And I have started feeling a lot better over the last couple of weeks with a lot more energy to do things around the house (Michael is thankful!). I'm officially into maternity pants as of 15 weeks. I had been wearing larger size jeans for a few weeks, but as of 15 weeks they were no longer comfortable at all. Over the next few weeks the baby doubles in size, so this is a growth spurt time. Also, I have already been able to feel the baby move! If I am sitting very still I can feel the little flutter, its such a neat feeling! I think I was about 20 weeks before I was able to feel Madilynn moving.
Spring Break was great...pictures to come, as soon as I can get them all downloaded onto the same computer!

With the New Year came some Big News....
We're expecting baby #2!
Arriving around September 4th!!
This morning we went to the 12 week appointment. And to our surprise we got to have an ultrasound! The doctor thought it might be too early to find the heartbeat with the doppler, and after trying he said let's just go ahead and do an ultrasound so you won't worry - we were so excited!
So, here's the first picture of Baby P
This is a profile view of the whole body. Should be able to see head, body, arms, and legs. This baby sure is a mover. Now we can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl! And for all of you out there that have been teasing us about twins...
We had him double check and the doctor says there's only one! Daddy was relieved!!

Melting!!
It has started to warm up some here in Iowa. This past weekend it was in the upper 40's and a couple of days this week were in the upper 50's FINALLY..some much needed melting happening! It's really gone down quick from all the snow that was in the yard...here's a picture of out our front door this afternoon! (Our house faces the north so it seems like that front patch is always the last to go.)
I'm not sure how excited to get, the weather forecast is calling for several inches tomorrow. Hopefully it will kind of by-pass us. I'm really ready for it to start looking and feeling more like spring!
Warm Weekend!
This past weekend we took an unplanned trip back to Arkansas and were able to enjoy some warmer weather. My family was surprised at how spontaneous I allowed myself to be in taking an unplanned trip. (We decided on Wed. night and left Fri. morning - I guess I normally plan things out at least a few more days in advance).
She's a little monkey...she loved it and didn't want to get down..her reasoning was that she could do it again "in the morning". This is how she tells everything she wants to do, it can always happen "in the morning" (I guess her way to understand tomorrow).

While home for the weekend I also got to go to my cousin Lyndsi's baby shower. It was so good to see her and my aunt Trina who I hadn't gotten to see in a while.
Here's me, my mom, and Ashlee
And here we are with Lyndsi and Trina
Then Saturday night Michael and I got to have a date! We went to see the movie New in Town. It was such a funny movie and one that we could really relate to. If you see it I'm sure you'll understand! Then we went out to eat at my favorite place Abuelos!!! (We celebrated Valentines Day early)
Madilynn got to climb the tree (with Papa's help)
Here's me, my mom, and Ashlee
Quick trip, but well worth it! Lots of fun!
Catch-Up...Playing in the Snow!
A couple of weeks ago the temperatures here finally warmed up a bit (out of the single digits). I believe it was about 16 degrees and Madilynn was ready to play in the snow. So Daddy and Madilynn put on their snow pants and gear and got out to play for about 30 minutes. Madilynn had a good time exploring, but wasn't quite sure about not being able to swing or slide.
