20 Weeks

We made it to the half-way mark last Friday - 20 weeks. Here's my current picture taken yesterday. I have been feeling great except for some cold/allergy symptoms which I think are finally going away! We are so excited for the ultrasound tomorrow...can't wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl!!

Easter

First Egg Hunt
The weekend before Easter Madilynn got to do her first egg hunt. Our small group girls got together for an egg hunt. It was a little chilly. Madilynn did really well. I thought she would get caught up after finding each egg to see what was inside, but she didn't at all. She would pick up an egg and go straight for another.

Easter Weekend
We traveled back to Arkansas to spend Easter with family, and we had a great visit! On Saturday we dyed eggs with Memaw and Devin. This was Madilynn's first time to dye eggs she did a good job, but only lasted for about 6 eggs before she was done.
"See, Daddy!"
All finished!
All dressed up...
I loved the hat on her, it ended up working out well since it rained Sunday.

Spring Break!!

First Day - Madilynn already playing in the sand! After 3 days of traveling in the car I'm sure she wondered if we'd ever get to the beach. She did really well traveling as long as she had a "moonie" (movie) playing!

The next day was cloudy and rainy so we all enjoyed catching up on rest. Madilynn enjoyed reading her books...
and kissing piggy...
The warm & sunny weather returned...
Daddy and Papa taking Madilynn to the ocean that's as far as she got before she turned around and went back to playing in the sand!
Madilynn helping Mommy build a sand castle
Here are the results... I had to get a quick picture because Madilynn's favorite thing to do was step on them.
Beach Girl!!
I interupted Daddy and Madilynn time watching the sunset for a picture...
So cute...look how curly her hair is!! Somebody went swimming that day!
One day Michael went Deep Sea Fishing on a 6 hour trip. He caught this baby sand shark...pretty cool!
Michael with his fish. They were white snapper and lady fish, he caught 5 and someone gave him theirs. So that night we grilled fish and burgers at the hotel!
Madilynn really loved swimming in the pool... or at least getting out and jumping back in. She also went under for the first time. Daddy showed her how to hold her breath and she did it and he dunked her.

We tried to get a few pictures before dinner, still a little sunny!

Nana and Madilynn
Last, but not least here are some cute pictures of Madilynn on our last night when we all went out for dinner....

ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Madilynn can sing her ABC's and some other songs like Twinkle Twinkle Litttle Star, and Jesus Loves Me. The challenge is getting her to sing them while I'm recording her. Here are a couple of videos I did get. You can see just how quickly she goes from one thing to the next.

This one is so funny to me. I was trying to sing along with her to keep her on track with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, because sometimes she switches into the end of the ABC's song.

I'm getting to the beach pictures...these videos were taken just before Spring Break and I just had to get them on here for the grandparents...enjoy!

Spring Break Packing

Last year when we went to the beach Madilynn was just 17 months old and didn't care for the sand at all. When I stood her in it she just started crying. So this year I wanted to prepare her for what to expect hoping that she wouldn't be afraid of anything. I showed her pictures from last year and told her that we were going back to the beach where she could play in the sand and get in the ocean. She was really excited about the playing in the sand part. But, everytime she was asked if she was going to play in the ocean she would reply, "No, whale get you!" It was funny at first, then the more she said it, the more I realized we needed to let her know that it would be okay. (Not sure where it came from either watching Nemo, or the story of Jonah and the Whale.)

Madilynn phrases

I just thought I needed to get these down before I forget. Madilynn is so funny...the things she is saying these days. I think to myself I won't forget that one and then by later in the day I can't remember what it was.

A couple of weeks ago her new saying was "not yet" I still hear it every now and then, but not as often anymore. We had tried to start her with potty training. And I would ask her, " Do you need to go potty?" and she would reply, "Not Yet!"

Lately her saying is "Right Now". Michael and I discussed this morning that we don't think she really understands what it means, but it's so funny how she adds it to the end of everything she says. This morning I told her she was going to go play over at a friends house today. She was so excited then took off running down the hall to her bedroom, then she turned around and said, "I get clothes, right now!" while she pointed her finger at me. I just couldn't help but laugh, she is so silly. I explained that we weren't going right away, but she still went ahead and picked out some clothes to wear.

She is also very interested in the weather outside, she always notices when it's getting dark or dark and lets us know. She also points out if its raining, snowing, or sunny. It rained on us several times at the beginning of Spring Break and she would start singing the song, "It's raining, it's pouring" so funny to hear her sing that whole song just kind of picking out the words she does know. Yesterday morning it was raining here and we got out for bible study. It wasn't raining when we went, but by the time we were leaving it was pouring and it was the one time she was wearing a jacket without a hood. I picked her up and carried her to the car while she burried her head into my neck. When we got to the car and I put her in her seat she had such a distressed look on her face and couldn't believe that she had gotten wet. When we got home she was still talking about the rain. I then explained that rain was a good thing and it helped plants to grow. Like the trees and the flowers. And then she was excited and said yeah!! Then she didn't talk about it raining anymore...

16 Weeks

Just thought I'd give a pregnancy update... don't have any pictures yet. I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and everything is good. Baby's heartbeat is in the 150's (seems lower than what Madilynn's was this early, but I don't think I wrote it down anywhere to check). For the most exciting news...we got to schedule our next appt. for the ultrasound! So, April 21st at 20 weeks we'll get to find out boy or girl...we are so excited!!

Also, I am past the nausea stage, yay! And I have started feeling a lot better over the last couple of weeks with a lot more energy to do things around the house (Michael is thankful!). I'm officially into maternity pants as of 15 weeks. I had been wearing larger size jeans for a few weeks, but as of 15 weeks they were no longer comfortable at all. Over the next few weeks the baby doubles in size, so this is a growth spurt time. Also, I have already been able to feel the baby move! If I am sitting very still I can feel the little flutter, its such a neat feeling! I think I was about 20 weeks before I was able to feel Madilynn moving.

Spring Break was great...pictures to come, as soon as I can get them all downloaded onto the same computer!
